Client Notification of Dormant or Inactive Account

Dear Valued Client,

Client Notification


We are pleased to inform you that a new policy to identify Dormant Accounts (as defined below) and Inactive Accounts (as defined below) is adopted so as to protect clients from potential loss due to unauthorized use of such accounts and to prevent inactive accounts from being used for money-laundering or other illegal purposes.

Dormant Accounts

Dormant Accounts are those client’s Futures/Securities accounts which didn’t have any activities (including trading, fund deposit/withdrawal, future contract open position, stock deposit/withdrawal and corporate actions that will result in stock and/or fund movements) for the past two years, and do not have any balance (both cash and product).

Inactive Accounts

Inactive Accounts are those client’s Futures/Securities accounts which didn’t have any activities (including trading, fund deposit/withdrawal, future contract open position, stock deposit/withdrawal and corporate actions that will result in stock and/or fund movements) for the past two years, but have balance (cash and/or product).

No transaction/withdrawal can be carried out through any Dormant Account and Inactive Account until the required reactive process is completed. If client requests to reactivate Dormant or Inactive Account, please kindly contact our Customer Service or request the Dormant / Inactive Account Reactivation Form via email. Please return your completed form by email to cs@cnfirst.com.hk or send to our office by post. Your request will be processed within 2 working days upon we have verified your client identity.

This client notification serves as our 7 days’ notice to you regarding changes to or introduction of the relevant policy set out above. These changes will take effect automatically on the Effective Date 21/12/2020 and will be binding on you if you continue to maintain, on or after the Effective Date, your Futures / Securities account. If you do not accept the above amendments, we will not be able to continue providing services to you. Please contact our customer service to notify us to cancel the account.
